Free Learning

I came across Edx recently. Edx is a Massive open online course (MOOC) platform lists hundreds of free courses across different disciplines. I was surprised I was just discovering this website and would love to share it with others.

Ongoing courses have two payment options:

  1. A free, auditing option which allows you to go through the course materials for free. This option is for those who want to develop their knowledge of a subject for personal reasons such as self development or to gain a deeper insight.
  2. A paid, certified option which presents a certificate on successful completion. This option is for you if you want to learn new skills to widen your job prospects and need a certificate to highlight your new knowledge.

The schools and training partners are some of the world’s leading institutions including Harvard, Brown, Berkeley, Microsoft Learning. And subjects are wide-ranging.

The sheer quantity of offerings can be overwhelming so I put together a list of courses I believe are essential to do your work better, live a better life or learn about new cultures. I will update this list regularly.
